Cherry Blossom Festival - On Location: Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn, NY

Hanami at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn, NY follows the Japanese tradition of enjoying each moment of the cherry blossom season, many species of cherry trees bloom at different times, culminating in a magnificent display on Cherry Esplanade.

Enjoy the Japanese cultural tradition of Hanami, savoring each moment of the cherry blossom season, and witness the unfolding of the Garden’s world-famous collection of over 200 cherry trees. Hanami came early this spring due to the mild weather, with an array of weeping cherries (Prunus subhirtella 'Pendula') surrounding the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden. The Garden's many cultivars bloom at different times, culminating in a magnificent display on Cherry Esplanade. Mother Nature can be unpredictable.

A weekend celebrating traditional and contemporary Japanese culture.
