Photography In Washington: Memorial Day Weekend

Learn how to take great pictures BEFORE you go on that expensive trip! Join our standard Monuments and Memorials workshop takes you to some of the most popular monuments and historic buildings in Washington.

  • Safari/Workshop: The Safari begins with a 45-minute travel photography orientation, giving you tips in basic architectural photography, outdoor portraiture, workshop takes you to some of the most popular monuments and historic buildings in Washington: the White House, Lafayette Park, the Albert Einstein, Lincoln, Korea, and Vietnam Three Servicemen Memorials, and finally to Union Station.

    Students may work in digital media or film (black-and-white or color). All formats are welcome. Open to any photographer at any skill level with any camera, film or digital. No tripod needed on the morning section.

  • Starts promptly at 10:00am and will be cancelled only in case of severely inclement weather. Meet at the entrance of Renwick Gallery, 17th and Pennsylvania Ave NW. The safari / workshop ends at the Rosslyn Metro Station on the Blue/Orange Lines.

  • Safari: Limited to 12 people (carpooling can be arranged upon request)

Note: Proceeds (fee) will go directly towards helping the white-clad widows, the forbidden “out-caste” and the untouchable eunuchs, shunned as members of the “third sex” by the Indian society. All collected money will be donated to a non-profit organization consisting of volunteers interested in dedicating their expertise and time to fight a wide variety of social injustices in India.
